Myron Heithoff, 69 of Carroll, died Sunday, May 12, 2024 at The University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willey.  The Celebrant will be Fr. Merlin Schrad.  Concelebrants will be Fr. Craig Collison and Fr. Terry Roder.  Mass Servers will be Brody Gunderson, Ben Heithoff, and Hazel Clausen.  Prelude music will be by Gabe Clausen and All Strings Attached.  Music for the Funeral Mass will be by Shelly Schreck and the St. Mary’s Choir.  Lector for the Funeral Mass will be Angie Palmer.  Gift Bearers will be Jane, Tom, Ni, Dan, Stevi, Stella, and Josephine Heithoff.  Casket Bearers will be Duane Handlos, Dan Handlos, Tom Schoeppner, Randy Schultes, Steve Gengler, Mike Boes, Charlie Freml, and Brian Heithoff.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Willey.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a rosary at 5 p.m.   Additional visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Monday in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall prior to the Funeral Mass.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for a later designation.

Myron, the son of Marvin and Esther (Schaeuble) Heithoff, was born on June 15, 1954, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up on a farm with his 7 brothers and sisters outside of Willey and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1972. He graduated from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City in 1976 with a degree in accounting. On October 8th, 1977, he was united in marriage to Jane Busche at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll, Iowa. They made their home a few miles south of Carroll and raised their two boys, Daniel and Thomas.

Myron worked for the RVEC in Glidden, Iowa and served as their CFO for 39 years. He had a passion for farming and gardening. He loved Slow Pitch softball and was elected to the Carroll County Softball Hall of Fame in 2001 and he was the manager of the Willey Giants slow pitch team and loved playing the game as well. He coached his sons for many years in baseball, basketball and football. He also loved spending time with his family and was a proud Father and Grandpa.

Myron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jane; his sons Daniel (Stevi) Heithoff and their two daughters, Stella and Josephine, and Thomas Heithoff and his fiancé Niesha Pedelty. His siblings include: David (Marcia) Heithoff of Harrison, AR, Denis (Laurel Jean) Heithoff of Willey, IA, Jerry Heithoff of Waukee, IA, Mary Jane Heithoff of Omaha, NE, Morrie (Pat) Heithoff of Manning, IA, Louise Dalrymple of Omaha, NE, Julie Heithoff of Omaha, NE; his sisters-in-law: Georgia Bizal of St. Joseph, MO, Joyce (Dr. CB) Chastain of Columbia, MO; his brother-in-law James Busche of Columbia, MO, and many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Heithoff; his mother Esther (Schaeuble)Heithoff, brother; Allan Heithoff, father-in-law; George Busche, mother-in-law Elayne (Montgomery) Busche, and brother-in-law; Mike Dalrymple.
