The Carroll Arts Council Community Theatre is excited to bring two productions to the stage again, allowing youth and adults to engage in the theatrical arts, with youth tryouts beginning this week. This year, the youth play “Miracle in Mudville,” written by D.W. Gregory, is about a young boy with two of his friends who are not the greatest at baseball and are not living up to their parents’ visions. But with the help of an unexpected spirit and a little time travel, they discover that their parents’ “glory days” weren’t exactly the story they heard. The youth theater auditions will be held tonight (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday), starting at 5 p.m. at 1240 Heires Ave. Individuals ages 10-14 are encouraged to try out with a parent or guardian present during auditions. A $25 fee will be if a child is selected and accepts a part to pay for a script, t-shirt, and a casting party after the performances on June 29 and 30. Adult auditions are scheduled for next week, with more details to come in future newscasts. Again, the Carroll Arts Council Community Theatre is holding auditions tonight (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) for this year’s youth production of “Miracle In Mudville“ and looks forward to seeing those trying out at 5:00 p.m.
