Western Iowa Networks presented the Arcadia Legion Hall with a check for $2,000 yesterday (Wednesday) to help cover the cost associated with the roof replacement project. Legion member Ralph Lampman, overseeing the project, says the members noticed the roof was starting to show its age and wanted to replace it before any more damage occurred inside the building. Around the end of March, the organization began raising funding to contribute toward the $40,000 needed, and the generous donation from WIN has got them even closer. Lampman says crews have already completed the project, starting last Friday, and finishing it the following day. Even though construction is complete, Lampman says the legion is still a little short of the total needing to be reached. Anyone interested in donating to assist the legion can mail donations to the Arcadia Legion Hall at P.O Box 62, Arcadia, Iowa 51430. Lampman and the rest of the legion members want to thank WIN for the donation, allowing the legion hall to continue hosting community events.
