A water boil advisory has been issued for the City of Audubon until further notice due to a water main break. The incident happened late this morning when a contractor hit a main located near the water tower which resulted in loss of pressure. City workers have located the leak, shut down the water treatment plant and are working to repair the area. All water that is planned to be used to prepare food or be consumed will need to be boiled for at least two minutes, or use bottled water as an alternative. The city is also asking for residents to conserve water as much as possible until the notice has been lifted. Residents are asked to hold off on watering plants, grass or washing vehicles. Questions or concerns can be directed to Audubon Public Works Brian Julesgaard by calling 712-254-0195.
