The Audubon Public Library is excited to be bringing a community favorite event to Audubon City Park again this summer. Music in the Park has been held over the last ten or so years as a way for the library to offer another way for patrons to get involved. Library Director Gail Richardson says it’s been a fantastic experience watching the event grow into what it is today.
Richardson says they have a line-up with all different genres that will surely hit every generation attending. New acts like Brick-One Man Band, Neil Hewitt, and Bob & Amy are scheduled to perform, with returning acts from Brad Morgan, Chad Elliot, and more. A new thing this year is that Richardson says one of the performances will be at a different location.
Music in the Park kicks off every Thursday evening, right after the farmers market, starting on June 6. Attendees are asked to remember their lawn chair for a comfortable spot. Richardson says while snacks and drinks are welcome, food options will also be available during some of the scheduled concerts.
This year, the Rose Theater on Broadway has graciously offered to serve as an alternate location in case of inclement weather, demonstrating the community’s support for this event. Richardson extends a heartfelt thanks to all the patrons who have generously donated to the library, making Music in the Park possible. She eagerly anticipates the community coming together for this year’s program. The complete schedule can be found below.
