World-renowned pipe organ manufacturer, Dobson Pipe Organ Builders of Lake City, has advanced to the top four in the Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s first annual Coolest Thing Made in Iowa contest. Dobson defeated Butter Braid® pastries produced by Country Maid, Inc. in the round of eight to move on to the final round of voting. Dobson is up against some giants of Iowa manufacturing in the top four, including Musco Sports Lighting in Oskaloosa, Safe-T Homes from Sukup Manufacturing out of Sheffield, and the self-propelled baler produced by Vermeer Corp. in Pella. Voters can cast ballots online at www.coolestthingia.com once per day per device. The last round of voting is open Monday, May 20, through Wednesday, May 29. The winner of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s Coolest Thing Made in Iowa contest will be announced during the organization’s Taking Care of Business conference on June 5.
