No Injuries Reported In A Two-Vehicle Crash Between Carroll And Glidden Early This Morning

No injuries were reported in a crash that occurred early this morning on Highway 30 between Carroll and Glidden. The Iowa State Patrol reports the accident happened at approximately 7:54 a.m. when a 2002 Chevy Silverado operated by 56-year-old Dale Lee Spaulding of Scranton attempted to make a U-turn on Hwy 30 after stopping on the west shoulder to travel east towards Glidden. Spaulding came in contact with a 2018 Chevy Silverado operated by 30-year-old Brain Kallhoff of Ralston, who was towing a small utility trailer. Both vehicles lost control, and the Spaulding vehicle rested in the east ditch. Kallhoff gained control and rested his truck on the westbound shoulder of Hwy 30. Both cars had passengers, but no injuries were reported. Spaulding’s truck received disabling damages, estimated at around $3,000, while Kallhoff’s vehicle received functional damage, estimated at $15,000. Spaulding was cited for unsafe starting of a stopped vehicle.
