A boil advisory issued for the City of Audubon late last week has been lifted. According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the order was put in place Friday after a contractor hit a water main near the city water tower, resulting in pressure loss throughout the system. An estimated 1,200 homes and businesses were affected by the break. Repairs to the main were completed, and the affected area was disinfected and flushed. Laboratory samples have returned clear of any bacterial contamination, and customers can return to normal water usage. Operators thank residents for their patience during the advisory. Individuals with questions can contact Audubon Public Works directly by calling 712-254-0195.
