Main Street Coon Rapids (MSCR) is excited to be bringing back favorite attractions as well as new activities added to the fifth annual Main Street Block Party. The celebration, held every year during the Memorial Day holiday, was started to bring the community together, allowing businesses, organizations, and residents to celebrate everything there is to offer about Main Street Coon Rapids. In the downtown district, between Sixth and Fourth Avenue, numerous activities will be provided for those of all ages. The kid zone will have giant inflatables, face painting, balloon art, carnival games, crafts, water fights, and more. On the other side of Main Street, the double elimination bags tournament and bingo will entertain the adults. New this year, MSCR wanted to find an activity to bring more teenagers out to celebrate, and have added a virtual reality gaming truck, which will hold 20-24 players to play unlimited games for a purchase of $10. Ending the night will be a live performance by The Happy Endings Band, which plays favorites from the 80s to the early 2000s. Food and drinks will be available at local restaurants and businesses throughout the day. Activities will be from 2 p.m. to midnight this Sunday; the complete schedule has been included below. While the event is free to attend, any free-will donations will continue supporting future events offered by MSCR, such as this block party, Treats on the Streets, etc. MSCR wants to thank the City of Coon Rapids for partnering to help make this event possible, as well as all the sponsors to contribute to making this event enjoyable for everyone.
