Phase II of the Adams Street reconstruction project in Carroll is set to get underway in earnest near the end of next week. According to Public Works Director Randy Krauel, Adams Street between 10th and 12th Streets will be closed to through traffic beginning Thursday, May 30, as crews tear out the road and underlying infrastructure for complete replacement, including pavement, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and water mains. Work on the project between 12th and 13th Streets began earlier this month. Phase I of the project, which stretched from U.S. Highway 30 to 10th Street, was finished last summer. Substantial completion is expected by Aug. 23 this year before the 2024-25 school year begins.
