Every year, Lake View holds multiple events throughout the Memorial Holiday weekend, giving residents and tourists activities to celebrate with family and friends in the Black Hawk Lake area. Starting on Tuesday and lasting through Memorial Day on the following Monday, there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the Lake View community. The Lake View Library Book Sale is held during regular library hours on Tuesday through Saturday, along with the city-wide garage sales Friday through Monday, with maps available at local businesses. Officially kicking off the summer season is the first Market Square Farmer’s Market held on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Main Street, and the Historical Museum opens for the season from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The annual Panfish Tournament will be on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; those interested in participating can register at Shelter House in Town Bay. Finishing out the weekend will be the Lake View Community Club Membership Appreciation Day on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Speaker Park and the Memorial Day service at Speaker Park Veterans Memorial starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The City of Lake View is very excited to be able to offer many activities throughout the holiday weekend and looks forward to celebrating with everyone.
