Linda Lou J. Berg, age 82, of Arcadia, died Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Journey Senior services.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. John Catholic Church in Arcadia.  The Celebrant will be Fr. Terry Roder.  Music will be by Sharon Bierl and the St. John Choir.  Lector for the Funeral Mass will be Sue Armour.  Gift Bearers will be Linda’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Eucharistic Minister will be Julie Eich.  Casket Bearers will be Dennis Mueggenberg, Rita Mueggenberg, Michael Killeen, Ryan Maddox, Travis Freese, and Tanner Freese.  Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Arcadia.

Visitation will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll.  A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m.   There will be no visitation on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for Community of Concern or Kuemper Catholic Schools.

Born on January 2, 1942 in Carroll, Iowa, Linda was the daughter of Florian & Elizabeth (Steffes) Wittrock. She grew up in Early, Iowa, and attended formal education there. Linda worked in Carroll, met and married Eugene Killeen in May of 1964. They welcomed a son Bradley before Eugene passed away in an automobile accident.

On June 30, 1972, Linda married Joseph Dean Berg at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The couple made their home near Arcadia where Dean farmed.  In 1973 they welcomed their second son William. Linda remained on her farm in Arcadia until fall of 2023 when she moved into Journey Senior services.

Left to celebrate her life is her son Bradley (Jean) Killeen of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren: Michael (Katie) Killeen of Kansas City, Missouri, and Erin (Ryan) Maddox Lenexa, Kansas;  great-grandchildren: Henry & Isabella Killeen of Kansas City, Missouri, Morgan & Olivia Maddox of Lenexa, Kansas; siblings: Louayne (Kenneth) Mueggenberg of Carroll, Pat (Bill) Stammerman of Dallas Center, Florian (Diane) Wittrock of Carroll; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Norma Goecke of Carroll, Marie Berg of Arcadia, Vern (Pat) Berg of Arkansas, Jim (Paulette) Berg of Arcadia, and Helen (Ron) Sundrup of Arcadia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Eugene Killeen, Joseph Dean Berg, son: William Berg, her parents, sister: Gloria Jean Wittrock, parents-in-law: Joseph H. and Christine Berg,         in-laws: Robert Berg, Don (Ardella) Berg, Ron (Lorna) Berg, Jerry Goecke, Jerry Berg, nephews:Craig Goecke & Randy Berg
