The Carroll Youth Triathlon hosted by the Carroll Recreation Center is this Saturday, with registration due by Friday. Children ages 6 to 15 will compete in various events, including swimming, biking, and running, to win a $150 voucher for a new pair of shoes from Brown’s Shoe Fit Company. The races will start at 10:00 a.m. for the 6 to 8 age group, completing a 25-yard swim, a one-mile bike ride, and a fourth-of-a-mile run. Starting at 10:30, the 9 to 11-year-olds will be there, with a 25-yard swim, a 1.5-mile bike ride, and a half-mile run. The 12 to 15-year-olds will finish the competitions starting at 11:00 a.m. with a 50-yard swim, a 2-mile bike ride, and a one-mile run. Children interested in participating can have their parents or guardians sign them up by using the link included below. The entry fee is $15, which includes a t-shirt, a race number, and a goody bag. The Carroll Rec Center looks forward to seeing all young athletes test their skills this Saturday at the Carroll Aquatic Center.
