Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids will be hosting a free fishing derby this Sunday at the Garst Farmhouse Ponds. Anglers of all ages are welcome to come out between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at 1390 Highway 141. There will be prizes awarded for the largest and smallest fish, the youngest angler, and more. The pond is stocked with different kinds of fish, including bluegill, bass, catfish, and walleye. Those ages 16 years and older must have a fishing license to participate. With the weather that the area has been having or the rain in the forecast, Whiterock Conservancy will post on their Facebook page by 7 a.m. on Sunday if needing to cancel.
