Western Iowa Network (WIN) presented the Carroll Historic Preservation Commission with a check for the fundraising goals of the Bandshell renovation project in Graham Park. The $2,000 donation gets the Commission closer to the $75,000 goal to replace missing brinks and mason work, electrical work, and a new coat of paint to start the projects. Ward 4 Councilwoman Carolyn Siemann, who also sits on the Commission, says they have been in contact with quite a few businesses in the Carroll area and have received a great response in donations. While not giving out the specific number raised so far, Siemann said they are close to the $75,000 goal. Once the funds have been raised, Carroll’s Parks and Rec department will send the project out to bid, hoping to have the renovations completed by this summer. The entire Carroll Historic Preservation Commission thanks WIN for the generous donation and to all the other area businesses who have also donated thus far. Those interested in donating to the project can send their donations to the Band Shell/ Carroll Foundation at the City of Carroll, 627 N. Adams St, Carroll, IA 51401.
