National Alliance On Mental Illness Holding Free Mental Health Classes This Summer

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Carroll County is offering eight free mental health classes on Tuesdays starting in June. This educational session is for anyone interested in learning more about ways to support a family member or friend with a mental health condition. The evidenced-based program will discuss coping and problem-solving abilities to provide the most effective resources to improve the quality of life for those living with or know someone with a mental illness. There are two options for classes: Peer to Peer, which is more designated to those struggling with mental health, or Family to Family, made for tho.se wishing to support others who need help. Both sessions can be attended either in person or online. Family to Family will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at New Opportunities and Peer to Peer at St. Anthony Regional Hospital during the same time. The peer class will be every Tuesday from June 4 to July 23, with family to family following the same schedule except not having class on Tuesday July 2, and ending on July 30. Anyone interested in participating can register online using the links included with this story on our website.
