Authorities in Sac County executed a search warrant at a home in Early yesterday (Thursday) after discovering what appeared to be drug-related materials. According to Sac County Chief Deputy Katie Stange, deputies were assisting the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) during a visit to 403 Main St. and identified drug paraphernalia in plain sight and a pressure cooker with tubing attached to it in the residence’s basement. Authorities applied for a search warrant and contacted the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and State Fire Marshal Division for additional assistance. Prior to serving the warrant, the fire marshals determined the odd pressure cooker arrangement was not an explosive, nor did it contain hazardous materials or drug paraphernalia. However, authorities did seize multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia, ammunition, a handgun, and a homemade suppressor. No arrests have been made as of Friday morning, but an investigation is ongoing.
