Carroll City Council Approves Professional Services Agreement That Could Lead To New Traffic Signal At Monterey Drive

Traffic-Lights-3

The Carroll City Council has approved a professional services agreement with a consulting firm to develop improved traffic flow along U.S. Highway 30 through town. Public Works Director Randy Krauel says the contract with Snyder & Associates, Inc. covers three areas.

The consulting fees associated with that work total $12,100. Early estimates for installing a new traffic light at Monterey Drive will likely exceed $500,000. City Manager Aaron Kooiker says the proposed business development at that site is still being negotiated, and the cost of installing the new light, if the council chooses to take that route, will be part of the development agreement.

The council unanimously approved the Snyder & Associates, Inc. professional services agreement. The topic is expected to return to the council agenda later this year when the firm’s study is completed.
