U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley was in Calhoun County last week on his annual trek across Iowa for the 2024 99-county tour. On Thursday, Grassley visited KC Nielsen, a family-owned farm equipment dealership in Manson. During the visit, Grassley and the employees discussed the Farm Bill, interest rates, inflation, and workforce development. Following the stop, Grassley said, “I want to thank the employees of KC Nielsen for sharing with me the challenges and opportunities they face in the agribusiness industry. I look forward to bringing their insights back to the policymaking tables in Washington.” This year marks Grassley’s 44th consecutive year holding meetings in each of Iowa’s 99 counties. He has maintained this tradition since his election to the U.S. Senate in 1980, ensuring he takes questions on any subject and lets Iowans set the agenda.
