Tomorrow Is Primary Day; Here’s Where To Vote In Carroll County

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is Primary Day in Iowa. Carroll County has only two contested party elections, both on the Republican side. In the District 4 Congressional Race, businessman and veteran Kevin Virgil is challenging Republican incumbent Randy Feenstra for his spot on the ballot come November. The winner of the Republican Primary will be up against Democrat Ryan Melton of Ames, who is running unopposed for his party’s nomination. The other contested primary is on the GOP side for the District 5 Carroll County Board of Supervisors Seat. Mark McCrea and Adam Schweers are each running to replace Cindy Scaturico, who will leave office on June 14 due to a move to Virginia. The primary winner will be up against Democrat Cindy Johnson, who is running unopposed in her party’s primary. Carroll County has 11 polling places planned for Tuesday. Voters in the Arcadia Precinct will vote at the Arcadia Shelter House. Carroll Ward 1, Carroll Ward 3, and the northern half of Maple River Township are at the St. John Lutheran Church in Carroll. Carroll Ward 2, Carroll Ward 4, and the southern half of Maple River Township are at First United Methodist Church in Carroll. Eden Precinct voters head to the Templeton Center in Templeton, Ewoldt Precinct goes to the Sacred Heart Church Hall in Manning, and Glidden-Richland is at the community meeting room at Glidden City Hall. Pleasant Valley-Newton voters are at Dedham City Hall, Sheridan-Grant-Jasper Precinct reports to the Lidderdale Community Building, and Union Precinct goes to the Coon Rapids Municipal Building. Washington-Roselle’s polling place is the Halbur Community Building in Halbur. Wheatland-Kniest votes at the St. Bernard’s Parish Hall in Breda. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots must be returned to the county auditor’s office by the time polls close to be counted.
