All precincts in Carroll County have reported their results, and the unofficial winners of the county’s primaries have been determined. In the only contested county-wide primary for the District 5 Carroll County Board of Supervisors Republican nomination, Mark McCrea of Carroll defeated Adam Schweers, 866 to 312. McCrea now faces former Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education President Cindy Johnson, who was uncontested in the District 5 Supervisor Democratic Primary, in the November General Election. In other GOP Carroll County races, District 1 Supervisor Scott Johnson, County Auditor Kourtney Payer, and County Sheriff Ken Pingrey won their uncontested races with over 99 percent of the vote. As for the other Carroll County Democratic Primaries, District 3 Supervisor Gene Meiners won his party’s nomination uncontested. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from Tuesday’s primaries in upcoming newscasts. Vote tallies from local counties are included with this story on our website.
