Carroll Woman Charged With Attempted Murder For May 22 Stabbing

Additional charges have been filed against a Carroll woman arrested following a May 22 stabbing in Carroll. According to Carroll County District Court records filed last week, 31-year-old Jessica Lea Harrington now faces one count of attempted murder, a class B felony, in addition to the original charge of willful injury causing serious injury, a Class C felony. Harrington is accused of stabbing a 65-year-old male victim multiple times with a pocket knife in the 700 block of E. 18th Street outside the Harbor Crest Apartments. As of this (Tuesday) morning, Harrington remains in custody at the Carroll County jail, and the county attorney’s office has requested the court raise her bond from $10,000 to $100,000. Her arraignment hearing is slated for June 17 at the Carroll County Courthouse. Combined, the charges carry a maximum prison sentence of up to 35 years in prison.
