What has been called the “mini RAGBRI” of Western Iowa is raising funds this year for a family who has been strong supporters of the event to cover additional medical expenses. The Spring Bike Bash is now in its 19th year of inviting cyclists from all over to enjoy a day of company and, of course, riding while raising money for a good cause. Tom Bolan, has taken over organizing the Spring Bike Bash, and says the event got started to create another opportunity for bikers to gather and do the thing they love.
The 2024 Bike Bash is this Saturday, with registration available online or across from the Bik Arch in Lake View starting at 11:00 a.m. the day of the event. Bolan says it $25 to register which includes more than just being able to participate.
This year, proceeds will go to assist the Schwaller family from Johnston, who have a lake house in Lake View. Wife and mom, Bree Schwaller, is battling cancer, and Bolan says it’s time to support the family like they support the riders every year.
Again, those interested in participating can register online using the link included with below or show up on the day of the event in Lake View to help support this close biking community.
