The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) is hosting an informational meeting for the public next week concerning the district’s planned transportation facility project. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the James and Marjorie Knott Commons at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Carroll Campus. The event will feature CCSD Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau, representatives from DLR Group, the architecture firm, and Piper Sandler, the district’s financial advisor. They will provide insights into the proposed project’s building plans and financing details. Berlau says, “We believe it is crucial for our community to be fully informed and involved in the decisions that affect our school district’s infrastructure. This meeting provides an opportunity for residents to understand the scope of the project, ask questions, and share their input.” The current transportation facility operates with 4,000 square feet of space, while the proposed project would more than triple that to approximately 13,000 square feet. The expansion, estimated at $14.385 million, aims to improve working conditions for maintenance staff and provide cold storage to protect buses from harsh weather.
