IKM-Manning School Board Requests Public’s Input Through Post-Bond Survey

Officials with the IKM-Manning Community School District are seeking input from stakeholders as they develop plans for their students, staff, and facilities. Last November, an $18.6 million bond referendum for significant facility improvements throughout the district failed to reach the 60-percent-plus-one threshold required to pass. School leaders note there are areas that must be addressed to maintain a quality educational environment. For example, the board is utilizing Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) funds to build a second gymnasium in the district, and the district leaders want the community to guide future improvements. A short online survey is open through Monday, June 17. Responses are anonymous and include questions about demographic information, voters’ stance on the previous bond referendum, and what would need to change to approve a future referendum. The board requests all stakeholders in the IKM-Manning District complete the survey to help guide future projects. A link to the online survey is included below.
