Two long-term care facilities in the Carroll Broadcasting coverage area have been honored with the National Commitment to Quality Bronze Award by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). Black Hawk Life Care in Lake View and Rolling Meadows Senior Living in Carroll, formerly known as Swans Place, were selected out of 700 long-term and post-acute care facilities across 48 states. This award honors these specialty care providers who have demonstrated their commitment to improving the quality of care for seniors and individuals with disabilities. There are three levels to the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award program: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Providers will start at the Bronze level, assessing their organization’s mission, vision, and key factors to lead to success. The facility will also develop an organized profile and demonstrate the ability to implement performance improvement. Bronze recipients may move forward in approaches, achieving performance levels that meet the AHCA/NCAL Silver- Achievement in Quality Award criteria. Iowa Health Care Association Vice President of Quality Improvement and Regulatory Compliance Brenda Irlbeck says, “This (award) serves as a powerful acknowledgment of the exemplary care offered within these Iowa long-term care facilities and assisted living programs. Achievement with the National Quality Award program is a testimony of their commitment to continuous quality improvement and providing top-notch care for Iowans.”
