U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) has named Details Flowers of Sac City as her latest small business of the week. Throughout this Congress, Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties. Cheryl Gerry founded Details Flowers in 2000 with two full-time employees and a delivery driver. The business offers floral design, wedding services, and home decor. It has expanded several times over the years and undergone extensive renovations. Details Flowers was honored with the Sac City Chamber’s Business of the Year Award in 2010 and 2023 and the Business of the Month Award in 2023. Cheryl and her team give back to the community by visiting nursing homes on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to distribute flowers to residents. Ernst says, “Thank you to Cheryl Gerry and the entire team at Details Flowers for spreading joy and creating beautiful floral arrangements and long-lasting memories for the Sac City community. I look forward to watching this already thriving small business continue to grow and blossom in northwest Iowa for another 24 years and beyond.” Ernst serves as the Ranking Member on the Senate Small Business Committee and uses the award to recognize the importance of small businesses to their communities throughout Iowa.
