A Boone man was arrested early this (Thursday) morning on drunk driving charges after crashing his vehicle into a home in Carroll. According to a preliminary report from the Carroll Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:59 a.m. to the scene at the intersection of Amy and Capistrano Avenues. Authorities say 25-year-old Chandler Behrens was traveling northbound on Amy Avenue in a 2014 Dodge Charger and failed to turn at the T-intersection with Capistrano. The Behrens vehicle continued into the yard and struck the home at 1001 Capistrano Avenue, resulting in extensive damage to the car and the house. No significant injuries were reported. Behrens was taken into custody and booked into the Carroll County jail for second-offense operating while intoxicated, an aggravated misdemeanor, after registering a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.170 percent.
