Fuel prices in the state continued to fall in the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, June 12, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline across Iowa was $3.15, down eight cents from the prior week and 22 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average dropped five cents on Wednesday to $3.45 per gallon. In retail diesel, Iowa prices dipped five cents on the week to a statewide average of $3.49 per gallon, compared to $3.64 one year ago. The national average for diesel was 30 cents higher at $3.79 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16. As for heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 28 cents on the week to $3.01 per MMBtu.
