Carroll Community School District’s Board Of Education Will Meet At CHS Media Center For Upcoming Monday Meeting

The Carroll Community School District Board of Education will meet on Monday to further discuss the proposed transportation facility, quotes for technology and construction projects, and much more. The meeting will begin at 6:30 at the Carroll High School Media Center, with a presentation from Piper Sandler, who will be serving as the financial advisor and underwriter for the SAVE Revenue Bond for the construction of the transportation facility, upon approval of the agreement. Board members will hear a presentation from the district’s Iowa Jobs for American Graduates (iJAG) program and spring assessment data. After hearing administrative and personnel reports, the board will review policies and accept a donation for the Tiger Cupboard Program before moving into action items. The first action item would be to set a public hearing for CCSD to enter a bond agreement not to exceed $16 million for the costs of the transportation facility. Several quotes will be presented for purchasing science kits for biology and chemistry classes, technology quotes to choose between clever touches or Chromebooks, quotes to repair Fairview and Adams parking lots, and the HVAC system at the high school. Board members will review and consider approval for a memorandum of understanding with Latinos in Action and the iJAG program, along with agreements to add a Transition Alliance Program (TAP) specialist to the team and agreement with Edgenuity, an online learning resource. The meeting will finish with an updated timeline for the construction of the transportation facility, a follow-up from the Iowa Association of School Boards from the previous work session, insurance renewals, a request for a small vehicle, a request to dispose of a bus, and a contribution to the Merchants Park project. Again, the meeting will be on Monday, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Carroll High School Media Center, and the public is welcome to attend.
