A Crawford County man was seriously injured over the weekend following a single-vehicle rollover accident north of Denison. According to the Iowa State Patrol, that crash occurred at approximately 2:33 a.m. on Sunday on U.S. Highway 59 near the intersection with F Avenue. Authorities say 24-year-old Victor Rafael Eugenio of Schleswig was traveling northbound on the highway in a 2008 Ford F350 and had been reported as driving recklessly by another motorist. Eugenio lost control of the truck after briefly dropping off the east side of the roadway and overcorrecting, leading to a rollover. Eugenio was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison by Crawford County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of serious injuries. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
