Diana Marie Thomas, age 73 of Scranton, IA, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Unity Point Health – Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Church of Christ in Scranton, IA with Pastor Bob Rogers officiating. Casket bearers will be C.J. Clark, Shawn Lincoln, Scott Lincoln, John Stagg, Tony Crook, and Arvin Dahl. Honorary casket bearers will be Jared Thomas, Darwin Thomas, Jared Stagg, Devin Vililobos, Makayla Evers, Gabrielle Stagg, Dakota Sawhill, and Elijah Evers. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery in rural Scranton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 -10:45 A.M. at the Church of Christ in Scranton prior to the service.

Diana Marie was born August 23, 1950 in Spirit Lake, IA, and she was the daughter of Floyd “Bud” and Geraldine (Gustoff) Kelly. She attended the Scranton Community Schools, graduating with the High School Class of 1968.  On October 17, 1970 she was united in marriage to Michael Wayne Thomas, Sr. in Perry, Iowa. They were blessed with three children: Michael, Jr., Richard, and Nicole. She was employed at several area businesses throughout the years until she was forced to retire in 2010 due to her failing health. Her faith was very important to her and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Diana is survived by her children: Michael Jr. and wife Laurie of Windom, MN, Nicole and husband Troy Jordan of Scranton, IA, Richard Thomas of Bayard, IA, her stepdaughter, Wendi Jo Leadly of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with two great-grandchildren on the way; her sister, Deb Crook and husband Ray of Glidden, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Diana was preceded in death by her husband Michael Wayne Thomas, Sr.; her parents; and her brother Donald Kelly.
