Seven area organizations and individuals will be recognized during the 2024 Governor’s Volunteer Awards next week. Gov. Kim Reynolds says, “Those being recognized are the people who invest in others without expecting anything in return—except, of course, for the fulfillment that comes from doing their part to give back to their community. This collective impact is nothing short of remarkable.” Local honorees include Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC), Cathy Ballard of Guthrie Center, Sherri Moser of Carroll, Eileen Paulsen of Carroll, Marjorie Sands of Sac City, Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams, Jr., and Paula Wachholtz of Panora. The program is coordinated by Volunteer Iowa, a division of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The award ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, in Ankeny.
