The Sac County Solid Waste Agency wants to remind individuals residing in the county to properly dispose of household hazardous waste by bringing approved items to the Sac County Landfill to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Items like cleaning products, fluorescent light bulbs, automotive products, pesticides, and more can be taken to the landfill anytime it’s open as these products are not allowed to go into the regular garbage disposal. When visiting the facility, make sure to leave materials in original containers, have a driver’s license available for identification, and be prepared to fill out a short questionnaire about the products being brought in. The Sac County Landfill is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The landfill is also open every second Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. from April through September.
