The Audubon Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome a new chamber director, who has ultimately saved the organization from potential dismantling. Tiffany Wittrock officially accepted the position yesterday (Tuesday), replacing former director Mercedes Johnston, who abruptly resigned on June 14 due to personal reasons. Upon Johnston’s resignation, the chamber board members took to social media, asking for the community’s input on how the organization should be run to best benefit Audubon. With no director, the chamber had the choice to hire a new one but stated this might be difficult due to the struggle to find board members to fill positions. Otherwise, the organization could make it a board-run Chamber or disband altogether. Wittrock will be stepping into her new role as Chamber Director but will continue to operate her business, Modern Mix. In a social media post, Wittrock says she is excited to continue serving Audubon in more ways.
