An Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) town hall planned for the end of this week in Carroll has been rescheduled to near the end of next month. HHS representatives were slated to host a town hall on Friday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at New Opportunities about the Iowa Solutions for Aging with Independence and Longevity (SAIL) program. However, the meeting has been moved to Friday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at a location to be determined. HHS staff apologies for any inconvenience the rescheduling may cause and says, “Our commitment to engaging with and serving the communities of Iowa remains unwavering, and we are eager to meet with you at the rescheduled town hall.” The Iowa SAIL program was created to bring together government agencies, community partners, and non-profit organizations to address challenges related to aging faced by Iowans throughout their lifetimes. Iowans of all demographics are encouraged to participate. Six other town halls are scheduled, including two virtual ones. Details on those events and the SAIL program are included below.
