The City of Lake View is looking to hire a new Chief of Police due to the resignation of the previous Chief, Chris Jochims. Jochims turned in his resignation on May 20, effective immediately with no notice. He served on the Denison Police Department and as a deputy for the Sac County Sheriff’s Office before taking the position of Lake View Police Chief in March of 2022. Jochims resigned in lieu of termination, with violations of personnel policy provided as the reason for his departure. Officials declined to provide additional details despite repeated requests. City officials have posted the position and will accept applications until July 1, when the first review of applicants will occur. Once the application period closes, interviews will be conducted with a hiring committee, with the potential candidate hoping to be hir ed sooner rather than later.
