Gas prices in Iowa jumped more than 10 cents higher from last week, according to the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, June 26, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $3.31, 13 cents over prices reported on June 19 but still five cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was up four cents to $3.49 per gallon. Iowa retail diesel prices were mostly stable, dropping one cent on the week to $3.51 per gallon, compared to $3.64 per gallon this time last year. The national average for diesel currently stands at $3.81 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16 per gallon. As for heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site dropped 12 cents to $2.76 per MMBtu.
