One Teen Killed, Two Injured In Tuesday Night Crash In Webster County

A Webster County teen was killed and two were injured following a single-vehicle crash last (Tuesday) evening. According to the Iowa State Patrol, that crash occurred at approximately 10:59 p.m. in Fort Dodge’s Loomis Park along the Des Moines River. Authorities say 16-year-old Leah Clair Lynch of Fort Dodge was traveling through the park in a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. Lynch was pronounced dead at the scene, while one of her passengers, 16-year-old Amyrra Marie Lumsden of Fort Dodge, was airlifted by MercyOne to a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries. Another passenger, 16-year-old Jessie Bibi Leyja, was treated at the scene and released. The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, which was assisted at the scene by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Dodge Police Department, and area fire and emergency medical services agencies.
