Today (Tuesday) commences the Greene County Fair, with scheduled fun and entertainment every day until Monday. While the first two days are mainly for 4-H and FFA animal check-ins and a few shows, Vice President for Greene County Fair Board Katlynn Gannon says that admission is free every day to get into the fair and encourages everyone to come out. Wednesday night will be the crowning of the Fair Queen and the Little Royalty contest, followed by a bags tournament and live entertainment with food and drink specials on Thursday night. Gannon says heading into the weekend is when the bigger entertainment begins.
Saturday has plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, including the kid’s pedal pull, bingo, kickball tournament, baby contest, and more. Gannon says the board members are excited about Saturday night’s grandstand event.
Gannon says the fair board works hard every year to ensure everyone attending has a good time and to make the fair run efficiently. She adds that the success of the event is thanks to the many sponsors and donations.
