Audubon County Memorial Hospital Contributed Over $15 Million To Iowa’s Economy

Iowa hospitals contributed around $21.3 billion to the state’s economy in 2023, with Audubon County Memorial Hospital (ACMH) making up over $15 million of that amount. According to a recent Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) study, ACMH contributed $15.3 million to Iowa’s economy, with over half of that total staying in the local community through employment opportunities. The 17-bed Critical Access Hospital has 99 jobs, making up 5.4% of the employment for the county. Of those working at ACMH, $8.1 million was contributed to total wages, which includes benefits. ACMH not only provides services and jobs to impact the community but also contributed over $169 thousand in charity care, covering 110 patients who would otherwise not be able to afford necessary medical procedures. A link to IHA’s breakdown of hospitals’ economic impact across the state is included below. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from other local healthcare facilities in upcoming newscasts.
