Carroll Man Killed In Truck/Semi Accident Tuesday Near Lidderdale

Authorities have released additional details from a fatal truck/semi crash yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon in Carroll County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 1:47 p.m. at Noble Avenue and 150th Street, about three miles west of Lidderdale. The report shows a 2014 International semi-tractor trailer, operated by 63-year-old Michael O’Keefe, was traveling northbound on Noble Avenue and failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection with 150th Street. A 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 65-year-old Ronald Eischeid of Carroll, was traveling eastbound on 150th and collided with the driver’s side of the O’Keefe semi. The semi continued northbound on Noble before coming to rest north of the intersection, while the Eischeid pickup came to rest facing southeast in the east ditch. Eischeid was pronounced dead at the scene. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll County Emergency Medical Services, and Carroll Fire Department assisted the Iowa State Patrol in responding to the crash.
