Breda Legion Riders’ 8th District Legacy Run Set For Saturday

The Breda American Legion Riders are hosting their annual District 8 Legacy Run this weekend to raise funds for veterans and their families. The ride is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday), beginning at the Breda American Legion Hall. Chapter President Gary Schmitz says the Veterans & Children Foundation, which helps veterans and military personnel facing unexpected financial challenges, is this year’s beneficiary. He adds it also helps fund the American Legion’s full-time veteran advocates.

These are the people who help veterans navigate the frustratingly difficult process of applying for VA disability benefits and connect them with education, employment, and other service-related benefits.

Registration for tomorrow’s (Saturday) ride is $20 per vehicle, and participants can sign up the day of from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Breda American Legion Hall. Schmitz says they have around a half-dozen stops planned on the nearly 150-mile route.

From start to finish, Schmitz expects the ride to take between four and five hours, depending on how long riders spend at each stop. He says the ride isn’t limited to just motorcycles.

Once everybody arrives back at the Breda American Legion Hall, the group will announce door prizes for the riders. More information about the 2024 District 8 American Legion Riders Legacy Run is included on the group’s Facebook page, a link to which is included with this story online.
