Carroll Community School District To Hold Public Hearing On Financing For Transportation Facility At Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll Community School District Board of Education will hold the public hearing on the bond agreement for the proposed transportation facility during Monday night’s meeting. The district plans to enter into an agreement not to exceed $16 million to construct the new transportation facility. While the board is still looking into the options of which proposed plan to go and how much the board will borrow, Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says by entering an agreement, the district will be financially covered on whichever way the board will proceed. Berlau says the district will also be considering officially entering the contract with the financial advisor and the attorney to help with the legal side of the project.

Following the discussions on the transportation facility project, the board will review its policies with any changes and enter into a new agreement with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) for a new training opportunity.

The Board of Education will then discuss the approval of over $3,000 in donations to the Tiger Cupboard, employment approvals, and annual renewal agreements. The members will review and select bids for five different projects or items to be utilized by the district.

With July 1 being the start of Fiscal Year 25, the board has action items to complete, like appointing the board secretary and treasurer. The meeting will conclude by heading into a closed session to update and approve the Emergency Operation Plan, which is kept more private for safety purposes. Again, the CCSD Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Carroll High School Media Center and is open to the public.
