Kevin Joseph Stickrod, 65, of Glidden, Iowa passed away unexpectedly due to heart complications on Sunday, July 14th, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital in Carroll.

A visitation will be held at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll on Friday, July 19th, 2024, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. lead by Fr. Merlin Schrad.  The Glidden Fire Department will serve as honorary casket bearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, and online condolences may be left for Kevin’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home for a later designation.

Kevin, the son of William “Bill” and Marcella “Sally” (Hausman) Stickrod, was born on November 25th, 1958, in Carroll, IA. He grew up in Carroll with his three siblings and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1978. On November 2nd, 1990, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rosalinda (Granillo). Together they made their home in Glidden, IA. Kevin was blessed with four children: three daughters and a son.

After Kevin graduated high school he was employed with Farner-Bocken as a truck driver, and Commercial Equipment, where he would meet the love of his life, Rosa.  Kevin worked for Pella in Carroll, IA, for 28 years until his passing. He enjoyed working with his hands, building things, and helping others. He was fortunate to do this every day and took great pride in going to work and volunteering with the Glidden Fire Department with 13 years of dedicated service. Outside work, he enjoyed camping and camp hosting at Swan Lake State Park, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He loved being Papa to his fifteen grandchildren. Kevin lived the life he wanted and had the pleasure of experiencing riding in hot air balloons, driving race cars, flying model airplanes, skydiving, golfing, hunting, and operating fire trucks.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rosa; his three daughters and one son; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Lisa (Adam) McGilvra and their children Jasmine and her daughter Winter, Isaiah, Keegan, Nyle, Lillian, and Holly of Norwalk, IA; Nathan (Jessica) White and their children Josephine and Amy of Sheldon, IA; Laura (Matt) Hausman and their children Jared, Jacob, Kalie, Cole, and Cash of Carroll, IA; and Jacki (Derek) Sorenson and their children Jaxson and Karmen of Lidderdale, IA.

Other surviving relatives include his siblings: Ken (Carolyn) Stickrod of Fort Collins, CO; Kristy (Ted) Busch of Rockford, IL; and Keith (Sharon) Stickrod of Carroll, IA. His mother-in-law is Martha Granillo. His sisters-in-law include Caroline (Bernard) Vielle, Barbera (Gilbert) Candelaria, and Patricia (Howard) Launderville. His brothers-in-law include Hector Jr. Granillo, Victor (Nancy) Granillo, Gabriel Granillo, Paul Granillo, Raul (Stella) Granillo, and Alejandro Diaz, all of California. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Sally Stickrod; his sister-in-law Maryhelen Diaz; his father-in-law Hector Granillo Sr.; and his niece Kayla Stickrod.
