Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) will host a free “Welcome to Medicare” seminar on Tuesday, July 30, to help individuals navigate Medicare’s complexities. Attendees must register by calling 712-655-2072 by Monday, July 22. The event will be held at MRHC from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with participants entering through the Emergency entrance. The seminar is co-sponsored by MRHC and Iowa’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) and will provide comprehensive information on Medicare Parts A and B, Prescription Drug Benefits (Part D), Medicare Advantage Plans, and Medicare supplement insurance. It will also offer tips to identify Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse. Nancy Danner, MRHC’s volunteer SHIIP Counselor, emphasizes the importance of early information gathering, recommending individuals start six to 12 months before turning 65. For those unable to attend, additional seminars are scheduled for Sept. 24 and Nov. 26. Danner is available every Wednesday for appointments at MRHC.
