The 100 People Who Care Sac County has donated nearly $4,000 to the Sixty Plus Nutrition Agency to continue to serve nutritious meals to Sac County residents. For the past eight years, the 100 People Who Care have donated thousands of dollars to non-profit or charity organizations that assist serving Sac County in a variety of ways. During their quarterly meetings, the group hears from three different projects looking to receive that donation and how the money would help further their cause. The Sixty Plus Nutrition Agency cooks meals for around 100 individuals five days a week in Wall Lake and Sac City and delivers dinners to residents in Lake View and Auburn. With the cost of food rising, the organization was seeing some tight budget constraints, but this extra donation allowed for more breathing room to continue serving meals. The other two organizations that presented were Odebolt Rec Committee with their project to set up lights for the pee-wee ball field and the East Sac County Elementary Snack Pantry; they did not walk away empty-handed and received a $200 donation each. The 100 People Who Care Sac County will meet on Oct. 13 to hear from new non-profits to donate thousands of dollars again.
