The Breda American Legion Riders raised $3,000 to support veterans in financial distress and their families during their District 8 Legacy Run hosted earlier this month. The group presented the check to the national American Legion’s Legacy Run last week, which is supporting the Veteran’s and Children’s Foundation. That organization assists veterans and military personnel recover when facing an unexpected financial crisis and provides funding for the American Legion’s full-time veteran advocates. The District 8 Legacy run was hosted on July 13 and had dozens of participants join the approximately 150-mile route, featuring stops in Breda, Rockwell City, Lehigh, Paton, and Carroll. This year’s American Legion National Legacy Run is scheduled for Aug. 18 through 22, where thousands of riders will travel 1,100 miles from Independence, Mo. to New Orleans, La., passing through Arkansas and Mississippi on their trek.
