The City of Lake City and the Lake City Betterment Association have partnered up with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to provide more opportunities for redevelopment and rehabilitation of buildings in Lake City. Through the IEDA’s Community Catalyst Building Remediation Program, up to $100,000 in grant funding may be awarded to assist with the deconstruction and renovations of underused or dilapidated buildings to promote economic growth and reinvestment in the Lake City community. Tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., individuals with buildings or businesses located in Lake City that would benefit from this program are invited to partake in a workshop opportunity to learn more about this grant. The meeting will take place in the Memorial Building. IEDA representatives will discuss the qualifications that need to be met to be approved for funding and walk through the application process. Registration for this informative session is not required. Again, the IEDA’s Catalyst Grant workshop will be at the Lake City Memorial Building tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
