Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) has been named the Best Rural Healthcare Facility in the 2024 Cream of the Crop Awards from Iowa Farmer Today. The Cream of the Crop Awards celebrate top businesses and organizations in Iowa, as chosen by the public. SMCH was selected from a pool of outstanding nominees and advanced to the final round of voting, taking the top spot after public polls closed on May 19. SMCH CEO Linn Block says, “It is such an honor to be recognized for this award. [It] is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team. We are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients, and this award validates our efforts.” The winners were featured in the Iowa Farmer Today 2024 Cream of the Crop winners guide that was released last month. SMCH recently completed a $31 million renovation and offers a wide range of services. The hospital employs over 250 individuals across its hospital and four rural clinics.
